July 4th Flowers? Here are some Ideas !

The Fourth of July is a truly wonderful celebration that reminds us all of our freedom as a country and as individuals. While flags and patriotic streamers often are the staple of all Fourth of July decorations, flowers can add a beautiful and natural touch to any Independence Day celebration.

Fourth of July Flower Arrangements

Whether an event is formal or casual, there is always a place for flowers at a Fourth of July event. Many florists have put together patriotic flower arrangements to enjoy, but you can also make your own or work with your local florist on a beautiful arrangement or patriotic centerpieces.

Typically, you will want to use red, white, and blue in your flower arrangements. Red and white flowers are easy to come by – whether you use roses, tulips, carnations, lilies or daisies. Blue flowers, however, may be hard to find.

Sometimes, you can buy flowers that have been dyed blue but these do not tend to last very long. The flower arrangements do not necessarily have to contain blue flowers. Instead, consider using blue glass vases or blue ribbons to complement the red and white flowers and create your patriotic flower arrangements.

Another idea is to add some fun features to the Fourth of July flower arrangements like homemade or store-bought pinwheels in red, white, and blue.

Where to Use Flowers on the Fourth of July

There are many places to add flowers on the Fourth of July:

Centerpieces for party tables;
Flower baskets for patios, porches, and balconies in residential and commercial districts;
Wreaths for cemeteries to remember those who fought for our freedom; and
Parade floats.
Flower Care in Hot Times

It’s already starting to heat up, which means that you will need to take extra care with your flowers for the Fourth of July to ensure that they do not wilt before or during the big celebration. Be sure to keep the flowers in cool areas outside of the direct sunlight.freshness

While they may end up getting exposed to sunlight during the event, at least they can stay fresh beforehand. You can also use misters or spray bottles during your event to spray the flowers with a light amount of water to help them cope with the warmer weather.
